- in "Learning Activities", he is voiced by Frank Welker.
- in "Musical Memory Games", he is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.
- Sheriff Lewis has never gotten mad in the series. However, in the book Clifford and the Windy Day, he was visibly upset at Clifford after he accidentally made him drop his cupcake causing T-Bone to eat it instead.
- It is unknown if Lewis is his first name or his last.
- This character is named that when Clifford says, "Doesn't Sheriff Lewis go to work?".
- In " And Birdy Makes Three", T-Bone mentions Sheriff Lewis had once gotten a bunny and didn't play with him for a week. What happened to the bunny afterwards is unknown.
- In "Islander of the year", Sheriff Lewis is said to be the coach of the kids' soccer team. However in "Team Spirit" he only appears as the referee with Mark Howard being the soccer coach instead.
- In early episodes, T-Bone referred to Sheriff Lewis as "my human" and not by name like the other dogs when they mentioned their owners, which left little to no info on who his owner is. In "Cleo Comes to Town", Sheriff Lewis was mentioned by named for the first time. Sheriff Lewis made his first onscreen appearance in "Boo", however, he only made a cameo as an unnamed background character and would not be revealed as T-Bone's owner until "Doing the Right Thing".
- As revealed in "Friends Forever", when T-Bone was a puppy, he had a partner named Deputy Wilson who moved and left Birdwell Island around the same time the Howard family arrived.
- In the book and game series, his belt is forwards, but in the TV series, it's backwards.
- Sheriff Lewis whistles the tune of the theme song.
